"Wake Me Up When September Ends"

Summer has come and passed
The innocent can never last
wake me up when september ends

like my fathers come to pass
seven years has gone so fast
wake me up when september ends

here comes the rain again
falling from the stars
drenched in my pain again
becoming who we are

as my memory rests
but never forgets what I lost
wake me up when september ends

summer has come and passed
the innocent can never last
wake me up when september ends

ring out the bells again
like we did when spring began
wake me up when september ends

here comes the rain again
falling from the stars
drenched in my pain again
becoming who we are

as my memory rests
but never forgets what I lost
wake me up when september ends

Summer has come and passed
The innocent can never last
wake me up when september ends

like my father's come to pass
twenty years has gone so fast
wake me up when september ends
wake me up when september ends
wake me up when september ends

I realised the harsh reality of moving when I read what crap Grace wrote with her multi-coloured pens inside her messy handbook. I realised the reality when I read the April Fools Day bit where she wrote 'last april fools day in this school'. It really saddened me. Life was never the same!

GUYS! Don't make other sentimental people cry. Not like me, though. I won't cry now. I'm reserving it for the last day of school. Grace and some others will be greatly shocked. I am supposed to never cry. But hey, I'm human too! Humans cry to get rid of stress, though I sometimes shed crocodile tears, which are meant to be a substitute in crocs for sweat. Enough of the Science lesson. I just hope people will bothr to post on this site. My song for the last day of school: Wake Me Up When September Ends by Green Day. It is a song about loss and saddness.

*PSLE has come and passed, this P6 year has gone so fast. (Don't)wake me up, when primary school ends* Don't make me cry so fast. Enough with the sad talk! Let's have another ice sk8ng trip when the Fuji Ice Palace renovations are complete.

sk8er

p.s. I am too embarrassed to say this out loud. So, I'll write in German: Ich werde vermissen dich!

Seriously, I agree with Hui Ping and Wei Ling. We have been friends since like P3.
For most of us. Though there are some others that join 6/6 this year.
When we are starting to know each other more, we have to graduate.
Remember the last day of school last year, most of the us stayed back for speech day.
During lunch, saw lots of people hugging and crying, (I wonder if we are going to be like this?)
It was really saddening. I thought nothing of it. But until August, I start realizing that my friend are really something I need in life. I mean like when you are happy or sad, most likely you will share it with your friends. The new environment will be really weird because you have to meet strangers in secondary school. Sometimes I wonder why we must graduate? Yep. Most likely the answer is that you have to go another 'level' of studies.
I wonder if we can STILL keep in contact. I really want to. Sometimes, I think girls are more sentimental to boys. (NO offense)
Haha... Ok. Now, the days are getting closer. We are drifting apart.
I am feeling really sad.
Anybody with solutions?
Maybe 6/6 can have a day every month to meet everybody? including Ms Chan?
OR
Every two months? three months? four months?

By the time 6 months pass, you will find yourself loving SecSch more than PriSch.

Maybe, but my sis said her days at CPS were the most fun.

today, i was playing with some classmates. and, it turned out that relaxing once in a while isn't that bad.
i was gaunt with exhuastion by the time the others depart.
now, i am missing the time we (classmates & friends) spent together.
the fun, the laughter, the cold jokes, the running, the poking, the video-viewing, the smiles, the fights, the adventures we went through and shared among us.....
can we don't graduate?
don't go on separate ways?
because i am only beginning to share precious memories with them. i want to stay like this much longer. never ending of happiness.
why?
it's so depressing!

Though our 6/6 teams did not eventually make it to the Finals, I am not at all disappointed. I have seen you put up a good fight, especially the boys in the match against 6/4 yesterday after the Sec Sch Fair. A couple of close misses! I would say you guys have played very well! I was impressed when I saw our 'not-so-tall-yet' guys blocking off many potential goals for 6/4, especially when the goalkeeper is tall...but you defended fiercely and blocked the ball off quite a good number of times. Well done! Very sorry I couldn't see the girls play because I had to supervise the guys' games but I believe you gals have also done your very best!

And...in the spirit of good sportsmanship, we shall continue to be good and encouraging spectators for subsequent games next week!

TOKYO (AFP) - - Japan's Nissin Food Products Co. said Friday it was recalling half a million cups of instant noodles over fears of insecticide contamination in the latest food safety scare to rock the country's consumers.ADVERTISEMENT

A 67-year-old woman vomited and felt numbness on her tongue after eating Nissin's Cup Noodle this week in the Tokyo suburb of Fujisawa, the city's health office said late Thursday.

The product was made at a Nissin factory in Japan. A series of previous scares have involved food imported from China.

The health office said on inspecting the Cup Noodle they had discovered paradichlorobenzene, the key chemical in bug repellent, but no puncture or other abnormality in the cup.

Nissin was voluntarily recalling around 500,000 cups made on the same factory line the same day, a company spokesman said.

They were sold at supermarkets in Tokyo and neighbouring areas with most of them already gone from store shelves, he said.

"We apologise for causing trouble to Cup Noodle lovers," Nissin president Susumu Nakagawa told reporters late Thursday.

However, he denied the possibility of contamination at the factory, saying it had never used or stored the insecticide and had seven security cameras watching manufacturing lines.

"It is unthinkable that the contamination occurred at our production lines," he said.

The noodles scare spread Friday as another company, Myojo Foods Co. of Tokyo, said it found instant noodles laced with paradichlorobenzene and naphthol, also used as bug repellent.

A man "poured in hot water and noticed chemical smells," said a health official in Yososuka, southwest of Tokyo. The man was unhurt as he did not eat the noodles.

Nissin, based in the western Japan city of Osaka, created instant ramen noodles as Japan's economy grew rapidly after World War II. Aimed at busy people on the go, it has since become a multibillion-dollar industry.

Japan has been on alert after a series of health scares involving food, mostly made in China.

Earlier this month one woman fell sick after eating frozen green beans imported from China, which were found to contain thousands of times the permissible level of pesticide residue.

Sauce(no I purposely mispelled it. really.)

Take pity on me because no Nissin cup noodles for me for now ):

Dear fellow classmates,

There will be no school on Monday, 27 October because of Deepavali. :)

Happy Deepavali to Priya and Nishan!

Edit: Oh, the ministry that announced the date of Deepavali (whichever ministry it is) had earlier announced it to be 28 October but in the end, the Indian Almanac said that it was 27 October instead. (Ms Chan is very disappointed, haha.) Thus the date was printed wrongly, since the info had been wrong.

About 2 decades ago in P6, I remembered I had a childish looking autograph book that looked like this. People those days aren't very creative with words but they can be surprisingly mushy. I remembered one of the hot favourite autograph verses is the following:

Now I'm surprised this year that the one who took the first initiative to get autographs is Caleb.
Hmm...he's a sentimental fella...(I give him 3 years to remember me)

Now, all good things must come to an end (I heard this Nelly Furtado song today)
So it's time to say goodbye very soon (another 3 weeks?)

I believe you've made many good friends. Do keep in touch with them...and hopefully get invited to one another's wedding dinner...better don't be boring if you are inviting me!

Stay as friends :)

A quick search on Wikipedia gives me this...

Nazi Germany and the Third Reich are the common English names for Germany under the regime of Adolf Hitler and the National Socialist German Workers Party (a.k.a. NSDAP or the Nazi Party), which established a totalitarian dictatorship that existed from 1933 to 1945. Officially, the state was, as in the preceding Weimar Republic era, still called the Deutsches Reich (German Reich). In 1943 Großdeutsches Reich (Greater German Reich), became the official name.

Nobody is as crazy over Nazi Germany as you.
Come on, I didn't check before that. I just checked Wikipedia for the information and I can confirm you are Jun Yu now.
Plus the 'urge' thing(which made me feel that you are Jun Yu before),

I can confirm you are Jun Yu! (:

Oh yes and you created the 'urge' thing in class.

And I will say "YOU right".

Second Evidence!!!
The unidentified person says that it was his first time in the class blog, RIGHT?
remember yesterday or was it MONDAY? He said that he never went on the class blog before.

Third Evidence!!!
Today or was it yesterday?, JUN YU asked me " How to be one of the CLASS BLOG AUTHORS?"
Then, me and Jason slowly explain it to him in DETAIL.

There are still other evidence and thus, I think that there is a ninty percent chance that the UNIDENTIFIED PERSON is .................................................................................................................

But as it's not feasible for a big group to go around the place, we've to limit it to 10 pax a day for 2 days, ie 26th and 27th November. Hence, I'm sorry to say it has to be on a first come first serve basis. Of course, Ms Chan will have the first priority.

Please help me pass the message around. Thanks.

NOTE: The onus is on YOU to provide me with accurate information for your result slip. Request for changes made after the printing of the result slip will not be entertained.

Due to oversight, I did not give you the consent form for the factory tours today. As such, please print out this CONSENT FORM FOR THE YAKULT/SUNSHINE FACTORY TOURS and get your parent to sign. Give me the print-out on Monday.

Tuesday, October 7, 2008

Ms Chan just rang me up for a really good reason.

Remember this question?

The diagram below shows a portable water container holding 800cm³ of water. The capacity of the container is 5000cm³.

When the tap of the container is turned on and off, 400cm³ of water is collected in the bottle. What is the final volume of air in the container?

1) 4200cm³
2) 4600cm³
3) 5000cm³
4) 5400cm³

Remember?

Volume of air = amount of space it occupies

After pouring out 400cm³ of water, it is left with 400cm³ of water in the container right?

THUS, the space unoccupied by the water left in the portable water container is 4600cm³ (5000cm³-400cm³) since volume of air = amount of space it occupies.

Please pass this around before the exam tomorrow. (by Ms Chan)

However, there's a completely different scenario. DO NOT confuse this with the above question.

A basketball started with 500cm³ of air. I pumped in 200cm³ of air to the basketball. What is the final volume of the air in the basketball now?

1) 700cm³
2) 500cm³
3) 300cm³
4) 100cm³

Those who said Option 2, 500cm³, you are absolutely right!

In this case, the equation 'Volume of air = amount of space it occupies' is also logical, because the air inside occupies the fixed space in the basketball, which is 500cm³. Please help to pass this around. Thanks!

Hui Ping's revelation about my 'Die' draft entry sounds very sinister...so I thought I'd better clarify myself in case you guys think I'm raining some curses on the exam.

I read some of your entries for the past couple of days and this word 'die' kept appearing...

C'mon, if it's so easy to die, then the world won't be so overpopulated already. And I would have een dead two decades ago.

Take each exam as it comes confidently if you have done whatever you can to equip yourself for the battle. If you've done your best and that's what you get, I don't think there should be any regrets unless you have been slacking diligently (I love this ironical phrase I coined) in the past. If you think you haven't done too well, make sure you try to minimise the damage by harnessing your 'energies' for the next few papers.

And finally, for many good reasons, I can't post any comments on the current exam.

All the best again for the next two to three papers.

PS:

For all PLS's students....
Remember ahhhh!!!!!!!!!!!!

PLS suggests that we do a plan on what we're going to write to avoid missing out on words and paragraphs...

So that we will have sufficient time to write out everything.
And she says that... Keep telling yourself you only have 40 minutes. Don't daydream and whtaever.

I always take the "resting" and "daydreaming" time as a WASTE OF TIME, and I only rest my brain only when I'm drinking water, which is about 10s. Then I will go back to my exam papers immediately because I KNOW I have no time....

hi may i know the ans to these two questions?

A dispatch rider has to deliver a parcel from City J to City S by a certain time. If he travels at an average speed of 96km/h, he will arrive at City S 1/3 hour (20mins) late. If he travels at an average speed of 90km/h, he will arrive at City S 1/2 hour (30mins) late. What is the distance between the two cities?

Ah Meng walks to school at an average speed of 4km/h everyday. One day, after walking a distance of 1km, he realised that his watch was slow. So, he ran at a constant speed and managed to reach the school just on time. Later, he calculated that if he had run at this speed right from the start of the journey, he would have reached school 5 minutes earlier.What was his running speed?

LCM of 6 , 7 , 8

6-2=4
7-3=4
8-4=4 so I guess in order to get that remainder, it is necessary to minus

LCM of 6, 7, 8: 168
168 - 4 = 164

Can someone explain this Maths qn? Why did i even minus the 4?

For ur 1st qn. on the 999 ppl. I got this as my ans:

Find no. of terms from 2 to 998( all even numbers)

=(998-2)/2+1
=499(no.of even terms)

999-499=500(odd numbers)

2nd process:

Find the no. of even numbered terms from 1 to 500

=2 to 498
=(498-2)/2+1
=249

500-249=251

3rd process:

same as the above two....

=2 to 250
=(250-2)/2+1
=125

4th process:

=2 to 124
=(124-2)/2+1
=62

5th (and last) process:

=2 to 62
=(62-2)/2+1
=31

Last step:

999-31
=968

Is it correct????????? I'm terrible in this kind of questions, so I'm pretty positive that my answer is definitely wrong. Please tell me if it is correct.

All 999 ppls of a sch lined up in a singlle file and numbered themselves 1 to 999. All even numbered students were askd 2 sit down. The remaining ppl re-numbered themselves 1,2,3... The even numbered ppl sat down. After 3 more repeated processes, hw many ppl were seated?

This is from PAD.. haha...
1st)
Anyway.. there are 499 even numbers[because the first and last number are odd numbers].
So there are 500 odd numbers(left).

2nd)
Renumber again, 1 to 500.
then even sat down again. This time there are equal number of odd and evens.
So there are 250 odds left.

3rd) 1 to 250.. equal number of odds and evens.
So 125 left.

4th) There would be more odd than even so 125 / 2 = 62 1/2 and then add the 1/2 that belongs to the odd numbers...
Which is 63.. So 63 odds left.

5th) Renumber 1 to 63.. then there will be more odds than even. 63 / 2 = 31 1/2 then add the 1/2 that belongs to the odd numbers again.
Which is 32.. So 32 odds left.

999 - 32 = 967//

Jason gave 20% of his marbles to Henry. The ratio of H to J became 3:1
a. What was J to H at first?
b.After giving the marbles to H, J played a game and lost some marbles to H. The ratio of J to H became 5:4. If J still had 16 more marbles than H, how many marbles did he have before the game?

a)
H:J
3:1
11/4 :5/4

5/4 x 1 = 5/4
5/4 - 4/4 = 1/4
3 - 1/4 = 2 3/4
= 11/4

It is 11:5...

b)
1u --> 16
9u -->144

4u --> 144
1u --> 36

It is 36...?

= 10(no. of terms)

Then...........no. of terms x (40+4) = 440?? Correct anot??

Edit:
Emily had a rod. She marked it in 3 different ways.
First, she marked the rod into 10 equal parts.
Without erasing the first set of markings, she then marked the rod into 12 equal parts.
Finally, she added another set of marking the marking the rod into 15 equal parts.
If she cut the rod according to the markings she had made, how many parts would she get?

10 equal parts -> Each part is 1/10.
12 equal parts -> Each part is 1/12.
15 equal parts -> Each part is 1/15.

Of the 3, we need to find if there are coincidental markings... divide the rod into sections equivalent to the LCM of 10, 12, and 15.
10 = 2x5
12 = 2x2x3
15 = 3x5

LCM = 2x2x3x5 = 60.

Thus, she marked the rod at...
6/60, 12/60, 18/60, 24/60, 30/60, 36/60, 42/60, 48/60, 54/60,...
5/60, 10/60, 15/60, 20/60, 25/60, 30/60, 35/60, 40/60, 45/60, 50/60, 55/60...
4/60, 8/60, 12/60, 16/60, 20/60, 24/60, 28/60, 32/60, 36/60, 40/60, 44/60, 48/60, 52/60, 56/60.

Note that there are repeat markings; just count 1 of those marks. Total number of marks +1 = number of sections.

Note the unique marks. It's like there's a mark at Point 4, 5, 6, 8, 10, 12 etc etc and the list goes on.

My method is going by formula

If u wan 2 pair them up its also fine but its more troublesome

to find no. of terms(for example there is a gap of 3 between each no.)
3+6+9+........+99
then u take (99-3)/3+1=33

Slime

Labels:

Erm anyone knows the model answer for b)??
The answer states that...

'The nutrients and the minerals promote the growth of the floating plants such that they cover the surface of the pond, preventing sunlight from passing through. This prevents the fully submerged plants from photosynthesizing and causes them to die due to lack of food.'

However... my answer states that....

'It polluted the water in the pond and the fully submerged plants cannot reach for sunlight as the clarity of the water may not be as clear as before.'

Is both applicable or which one??
Cos I've always thought that soil erosion brings bad effects.

Hey slime, I have found the solution to Dictionaries question.

Mr Lim spent $1496 on some comics and dictionaries altogether. The number of comics bought to the number of dictionaries bought was in the ratio 3 : 2. A dictionary cost $4 more than a comic. The total cost of the comics was 20% more than the total cost of the dictionaries. Find the cost of a dictionary.

First, find the total cost of comics and dictionaries.
100+100+20=220
220% --> 1496
10% --> 68
100% --> 680(DICTIONARIES)
120% --> 816(COMICS)

Then find the total cost of 1 unit of comics and the total cost of 1 unit of dictionaries.

( /means divide)
$680 / 2 = 340(total cost of 1 unit of dictionaries)
$816 / 3 = 272(the total cost of 1 unit of comics)

Then, find out how many dictionaries you need to accumulate the difference between the total cost of 1 unit of comics and the total cost of 1 unit of dictionaries.

$340 - $272 = $68
$68 / 4 = 17

So 17 dictionaries are needed to accumulate the difference between the total cost of 1 unit of comics and the total cost of 1 unit of dictionaries.

So 1 unit of dictionaries is 17.

1u --> 17
2u --> 34

So Mr Lim bought 34 dictionaries.

$680 / 34 = $20(dictionary)
$20 - $4 = $16(comic)

If you want to check, find the cost of one comic. Continue from the units section.

3u --> 51

So Mr Lim bought 51 comics.

$816 / 51 = 16(comics)

You get the same answer as the one you did after you found the cost of 1 dictionary.

So the answer is $20.

I assume LW = LY cos your diagram is wrong..
So...

8cm - 6cm = 2cm
2 x 2 = 4sq cm(small square in the middle)
1/2 x 8 x 6 = 24sq cm(of one triangle)
24 x 4 = 96sq cm(all 4 triangles)
96sq cm + 4sq cm = 100sq cm(the whole figure)

And square root of 100sq cm is 10cm.
10cm x 4 = 40cm//
The perimeter is 40cm.
