MSG ar? Long term I dunno but it's sth like this.

For example you get A1 for English and A2 for Chinese. Your MSG for the subjects is (1 + 2) / 2 = 1.5

You get it?

Something like the average of your subjects. Haha.
My MSG sucks. :(

Funny. I don't think my school has anything like MSG/GPA/whatever. :O Weird.

Edit: Oh, @ Drima, I totally empathise & sympathise. Gosh such people deserve to get smacked left right center so they can wake up to reality. -.-

After I hear people ranting...

Memories. Somehow I never fit into anything. Seriously. And somehow, I can't stay invisible for long. I tried to stay unnoticed, but probably the whole drama cohort is talking about me, from their blogs to MSN and all. Some try to bully me, but I shrug them off. And though SCGS is known for being a breeding ground for tai-tais and weak girls (compared to RGS), someone should see the kickboxing training they have at school. And the sanctimonious Sec3 people.

To Szeling: Ooh, R sounds like my senior Rachel Ang. She is super b*tchy and pretends to be great. I called her a bimbo because she shunned my scientific theories (how mean!) in a very melodramatic way during Drama Camp (thank god I spent most of it in SCMUN) and well, acted like one, and she posted a lot of bad things about me on her blog and said 'You are not fit to be a bimbo' to me as if it were a good thing. Gosh.

SCMUN was awesome, I suffer from post-SCMUN depression. We just got into 'countries' (5 to 6 people per delegation a.k.a. the countries) and then, were split into our different councils (I was Security Council <3). We were the UK. The 3 days of MUN-ing were a few of the best in my life. We would debate for hours non-stop before submitting a resolution. And we had a 'crisis' where 10 delegates were 'kidnapped' by the LTTA chief and we had to get them back. China was quite p*ssed and crazy when they 'killed' their kidnapped delegate, who happened to be for our group and was voted 'The most dead delegate' later on during the Superlatives thing. We debated for so long that the poor kidnapped people had to be stuck in a room on the 3rd floor playing board games for 7 hours. I lost my temper on USA, who blatantly stole our clauses and did not even mention 'UK' in the co-submittors list. Japan from Security Council (the guy who won the best speaker award and is currently ranked 5th best speaker in Singapore) was like, 'Why are you so bitter?'
On the 3rd day, we debated on ECOSOC1 (Economic and Social Council 1)'s reso. Japan and Russia were against eachother due to clashing personalitites?!!!!! Then, we had SNL (sounds and lights) where two delegations were paired up to make a short play of 3 minutes where the main character could (was supposed to, atleast) say one line three times (not at once) and we had to stick to a TV show or movie theme. UK and UAE were paired together. UAE was AWESOME. They were ACSI people. And they had THE MASTER CHIEF!!!!!!!! :O Zieg heil! Our show was Ugly Betty (we changed it to an RPG... LMAO) and the line was, 'I kissed a girl and I liked it.' It was hilarious. Our Master Chief for the day (also wearing traditional Arab clothes like the real deal) was a drunk dude in an RPG and his teammates died in each round while he stumbled drunk. I was one of the villains, a militant punk rock girl guide. But I got killed. And was really fighting onstage. And everytime his remaining teammates ask him something like, 'You had a gun, why didn't you save him/her?' he would reply, 'I kissed a girl and I liked it'. In the end, the real Master Chief (narrator) asked him (after he had surprisingly finished off the last enemy and won), 'Anything you want to say, like what are your secrets?' and he goes, 'I like booze and I kissed a girl and I liked it'. LMAO.

Japan's line was 'My humps, my humps, my lovely lady lumps' and their show was 'The Bachelor' and a guy called Edward a.k.a. CULLEN (the playboy) was the 'bachelor' and the final two 'contestants' were GUY A: The 5th-best speaker guy. He was 'Maria-something-something' and had a Filipino accent, though he is Indian in reality. GUY B: he was also Japan, and he wore a mini skirt and pretended to be a highly shy girl :O I lost ALL RESPECT FOR HIM WHEN I SAW HIS ROLLING HIS PANTS UP BENEATH THE MINI-SKIRT. In the end, he kills Maria-s-s when she goes, 'You want to pight (fight)? Then come here right now. I fight for my boi-boi in Manila. You come here an (and) pight (fight)' and drags the 'Bachelor' away. LOL.

We had a DnD in the end. My 'brother' (who is a girl, btw)and I went on stage and jumped around like crazy and headbanging). Was so much fun!

After going to Secondary School, I find myself crying more, getting depressed more often and cutting myself. Yes, I used to cut myself, but I think, since last week, I have given up cutting myself. I do not wish to get tetanus and die a painful death. Instead, let's all get swine flu and dying to lower carbon emissions.

I do not like my current teachers.

Science (Chemistry, currently): This teacher scares us. He will get eccentric when explaining and bangs on people's tables and refuses to answer some of my off-point questions like, 'What is the terminal velocity of raindrops?' We hardly get any work done. This teacher is 1983628716491254915471875731521times more sarcastic than Ms Chan. His bulging features glaring at you... stuff of nightmares and horror folklore alike.

Lang Arts: Also scary. Very strict and nosy and tells a lot of stories. Some of which are not particularly fairytales. Because of her, I can't get any sleep at night. Too nosy. She came up to me randomly one day and said, 'You are too serious, learn to smile more.' How mean!

Maths: She's quite OK! For once! YAY! So random, but she told us to watch the Curious Case of Benjamin Button.

Home Econs: I refuse to talk about her. Too traumatised.

Humanities: Our form teacher. She bores us to death. Makes history, of all subjects, HISTORY! boring. :O

The girl who sits beside me behaves in a lot of ways like Yue Yi. Though I'd rather sit beside Yue Yi any day. The girl is crazy I tell you! C-R-A-Z-Y. And I say that like I'm any better.

I HAVE NO MYEs. YAAAAAAAAAYYYYYYYYYY!

For CA1, I got A1s for all but Lang Arts (B3). I am (so expected of me) the lowest in my class for Maths. But still, A1. What?! One of my closest 'friends' from my class got 277 for PSLE. She is a genius, though she knows nothing about particle theory and atoms.

My class is very bonded. Our teachers claim that they haven't seen such a considerate class before. Good for us. They are way more wacky than 6/6'08. Seriously. We have 3 major class clowns (including me). We call our class rep a moose (some of us, at least). We discuss on our old classmates. Dude, the whole class probably hates _______________ and the girl who sits beside me and _________________ have argued. And dislike eachother. LOL. It is so hilarious. I told him to have a catfight with her. but he replies, 'Sry i m nt a cat' What the...? LOL.

After seeing Ping rant, I feel like ranting myself. Rawr secondary school is really really very very different from primary school and omgosh, it doesn’t help when there’s irritating people (like Isaac?). And especially when you’re class chairperson, you bear the biggest brunt of everyone’s irritating side. -.-

I totally feel what Ms Chan felt whenever one or two people don’t hand up their form/money/whatever, because it’s really irritating having to chase people down just to hand in the form/money/whatever and then they’ll be like “orh” but the next day when you ask them for it, they’ll go “oh I forgot, can I give you tomorrow?” and then it just drags until next week or the week after and finally my FT will ask “did so-and-so pay you yet?” or whtv and only then will they pay up or hand in the form. -.-

And I guess my class has a lot of ‘class politics’ ah… There’s this girl, let’s just call her R. She is really irritating because she loves to suck up and always acts so… @#@$!%#@%$^! and we just really hate her and she just doesn’t get it to her head! She is so hypocritical and will tell people in a stuck-up way “I don’t feel like talking to you” or “Don’t talk to me!” or “Don’t go around behind my back telling people stuff about me” or stuff like that and it’s like so frustrating because guess who is the one who will keep repeating herself until she gets your attention? And that time, one of my classmates accidentally said something to R that R’s previous classmate (and current D&T partner) had told her and it resulted in a showdown, basically. And after that showdown, she still thinks she’s all that and still tags along with other people in class like some irritating fly. -.-

Then she always thinks she’s right and whenever I talk to her, either she acts super sweet (to suck up) or she’s b*tching at me like she’s so superior to me. That time, before the showdown in class, I was like shouting for the class to quickly go down for assembly because we were going to be late already. Then she was like “We heard you! You don’t need to shout!”. I mean, in the first place, if I don’t shout, how will 39 people hear me? And anyways we were going to be late, and you expect me to just happily walk slowly around class, smiling like some idiotic fool and saying sweetly “We’re going to be late, please hurry!”? Well that’s like the equivalent of sitting in your burning house and letting the fire ravage you. -.-

And then there’s this other girl, let’s call her R2, who is really irritating. R2 apparently doesn’t use the brain God has blessed her with before she talks, because she just lets slip anything and everything she likes. And her tone of voice is that kind of ahlian, who-do-you-think-you-are, I-am-better-than-you voice. The way she speaks always makes me feel like she thinks she’s so impressive and good, and honestly I wish she would just use her grey matter or just get lost. She keeps writing stuff on her blog like “my life is ruined!” and “I feel like transferring out of my class or Crescent”. And you know why? Just because some girls in class occasionally make some noise over anime/manga characters. -.- Honestly!

Gosh there’s just so many irritating people in class and other people don’t see that because well, I am the classchair and therefore I see the dirty side of people. Which, imo, is really sad because everyone will be like “But she’s so nice! Why don’t you like her?”….

So yeah, I really miss primary school. But secondary school is, in its own way, fun too, I guess. Hahaha.

MYEs starting tomorrow, ahhh. :(

Dear Huiping, glad this blog serves its noble purpose of making its author(s) feel better. By all means go ahead and rant...I have lots to rant about but I don't have the time to type it out (hmm...it rhymes). Also, I'm trying to suppress it for as long as I can while I try to count my blessings and let it overshine. YES, irritants are always around, trying to test our threshold. I feel so sorry for you and for Kay Vin...and I can imagine how tested Kay Vin is...(Kay Vin, pray for divine intervention!) Come to think of it...my class is pretty peaceful this year...thank God.

Ranting post

It's real painful to recall the memories of primary school lor. :(

I rly rly wonder how some of e PEOPLE(I shall not call them r*t*rds for once) can actually make it to RVHS.

You know as compared to this Issac Ko guy, Gibson is like 10000x better. Honestly. Now Gibson you can go rejoice because I would much prefer it if you were sitting in that Issac Ko's position now which is diagonally in front of me.

Everyday my table is just terrorised by him as he turns back to vandalise it, takes away my stationery, drops it and starts laughing, pull my hair, bangs into me and many other stupid antics that I'm already sick of. I once cried over this issue and from then on I ignored him and uh I think I'm dng rather well now that I ignored him. All e other girls in my class are also repeatedly being terrorised by him. I think after the MYEs when I'm free I would actually write out a petition and let my class sign and give it directly to my DM or my principal so that they actually know of this r*t*rd who actually exists in my class.

That said, do you know why I never ever mentioned all my teachers? Sometimes I really hate them so much apart from Mr Teo (Physics). There was once during CID I wanted to sit down and Issac pulled my chair away. Thus I fell on the floor and what he received was just a mere scolding and he got away with it with a laugh. If the impact was even larger would my teachers know that it actually harms my spine? What will happen if I actually break my spine? Will that r*t*rd be able to pay for all my medical bills?

My form teacher(Maths) is just another one who just goes "Tolerate him, but not too much." There was once he actually said, "You all cannot be so weak. When someone bully you you must learn to fight back, so that the other party won't continue bullying you." I actually found that funny. But in some way, it's quite true actually. He never ever scolds Issac for handing up his assignments late. He just pushes the deadline forward. Up till today we have handed in our Assignment 6 already and guess what? Issac has not even handed in his Assignment 4. Now you know how lenient my form teacher is and I totally hate that because I would really really prefer a much stricter teacher.

My history teacher? I can't say much. She's only 18/19 working as a Relief Teacher to teach us History but at least she gets pissed off with Issac.

My geography teacher just chases Issac out of the class and that's it.

My English teacher does not care about Issac because Issac is sitting at a blind spot and he can do whatever he wants (including reading of the newspapers) and my English teacher wouldn't actually see him. But she does scold him and complain about him to other teachers so I'm actually quite glad of that.

My Chinese teacher merely asks him to do extra when he doesn't finish and just x2 x3 x4 as she wants. During her lesson he pays attention, listens AND ACTUALLY REMAIN STILL though, and I don't understand why he can't do the same for all the other lessons. When the relief teacher comes he's like totally the opposite nature. Maybe my Chinese teacher has got the upper hand of him but if only she would be around for every lesson.

For my Science teacher, hehehe. I love his way of dealing with Issac. Issac talk = stand up. Keep making him answer questions that he doesn't know, keep making him do the right thing (he flips at everything cus everything about Issac pisses him off, just like me) For example sitting posture, everyone sitting in their own way including Issac but he decides to let everyone sit in their own way except Issac and he's supposed to be a good student. Then if he sits like a gangster again he can get rdy to stand up or get out of the class :):):) I love it when he gets punished.

Call me a sadist or what, but I've never enjoyed looking at people get punished that much. Exception will be this r*t*rd over here. And I totally love it when he gets scolded. I don't know how many warning letters he have now. 4 and he's out of the school, and I truly truly can't wait for that moment. Thus I shall do everything I can to earn him that 3 more warning letters that would lead him out of this school which obviously doesn't suit him.

Everyday just seeing his face pisses me off, I rly gave up hope on him alr. Don't want to be involved w him, don't want to be squabbling with him and don't want to actually even reply him or initiate a conversation with him anymore. Can you imagine a Hui Ping doing that? -.- Well you can't because in primary school everyone just seemed too nice and... yeh.

Please don't say "Oh tolerate him, and maybe try to change his attitude. Everyone will change. He will change some day." because I will feel like slapping you. I've tried. We've tried. We've all tried. Our teachers. Us. We tolerated with him no matter what he did to us. He tore my classmate's paper. She tolerated him. He went further by starting to terrorise her and she totally couldn't stand it anymore. In Primary School I hardly screamed at anyone. Right now I scream in my head so often than ever but yet I can't reveal it. If you're someone soft that the r*t*rd can bully then you are in great big trouble because if you do not actually learn to fight back, he will continue terrorising you.

We've all tried. Yes. During the days when I was more stupid I actually sent him the homework for the day every single day. I spared time to teach him how to do certain questions, which he ended up just copying from my SMSEs. I spared time to actually type out the homework list for him and made sure that he actually did them. The next day he would just have another uncompleted list of homework and when I asked him what he did he would just say, "I v tired at 4am yesterday" or HIS VERY ORIGINAL "My mother don't let me do!" Maybe he had some family problems, I accept it. But family problems need to come to school to settle? Beat people, bully people, terrorise ppl, making people feel worried, nt doing homework and stuff. Is that what he needs to do after coming back from his "unsettled family"?

First few days of orientation and he already got into a fight with another guy in my class. That just goes to show how childish and immature he is. First warning letter of the year 2009, he was the first in the whole school to receive it. Just look, can you actually imagine how terrible he is? You will not know how horrible it is sitting behind him, being in the same class as him. Oh of course you may think that you are very tolerant but when things get out of hand even Kay Vin can't stand it. Kay Vin is currently sitting beside him and I rlly rlly pity pity pity him so much because he gets constantly bullied by him but yet he can't fight back. Because the teachers will just say "Two wrongs don't make a right." And when he actually tells e teacher Issac will get pissed and just bully him more so what can Kay Vin do?

Oh well, I sidetracked so much. In primary school everything seemed so perfect. The homework we received (honestly now that I think back, I rlly rlly feel like doing more practice papers now), the friends we have. However childish we are, we were still in primary school. We could afford to be childish. The childish days were then and I do miss it. A lot.

I actually wrote so much. Feel a lot better, but definitely not looking forward to tomorrow as Issac will be here again. Today was such a peaceful day because Issac didn't come. The class was peaceful and everyone was like soo happy. To me, he's not a part of 1C. Because none of us actually needs and wants his presence in this class.

Please be glad if you do not have such r*t*rds in your class because right now, I'm thinking of how to actually tolerate the next 5 + 10 months with this r*t*rd right here. (We'll be in 1C, 2C before we branch into our Y3 classes and I'm definitely looking forward to that day when I can finally get away from this r*t*rd.)

a) It can be either 1, 2, or 3 SFs. It depends on how you are looking at it... this one I can't explain much.. Alr tagged on your blog but that's my way of looking at it. Ya..

b) 0.00100 = 3SFs. anything after a (i forgot the term, but it's like something with a value la) number is counted as a SF, regardless of the value.

c) 6.304 = 4 SFs. ^^ Simple.

d) 0.04 = 1 SF

e) 407 = 3 SFs

0.04053...
i) 0.04
ii) 0.041

Is something like tt la. Just read your textbook, I think they explain quite clearly (for my case la..) Of course, I cannot guarantee all my answers are correct, because I haven't been doing well at Math in secondary school.

How do you calculate the number of SFs in a number?! Okay, all you smart people out there, please teach me how to see the SFs of numbers like...
(a) 300
(b) 0.00100
(c) 6.304
(d) 0.04
(e) 407
AND how do you round off 0.04053 to (i) 2 SFs (ii) 3 SFs? Ack. And for this question (the rounding off one), when you rewrite the new rounded-off number, does it change the value of the number? How do you express it? O:

HI Drima,

cbrt -97.8 is not an imaginery no.

bec - * - * - will still give you a minus. Neg X Neg = Pos

Pos X neg = neg

working backwards, it will fit. Only numbers like -100 sqrt is imaginery bec neg X neg = pos

and pos X pos = pos, giving only positive as a real ans.

Oh, thanks Ms Chan! Apparently I read the answer key wrongly. o_o
It is indeed 1980g. Sorry Ping, hahaha! :x
Ahhhhh, 4 more to go!

Sze Ling, I don’t understand how it’s possible to meet the target if each worker produced 12 grams / hour.
Anyway, my proposed solution is below…not sure if it makes sense…My brain is dysfunctioning after marking a huge stack of compos that could not meet my standards…
----------------------

Ten workers planned to produce 10 tonnes of soap powder in 10 weeks, working 10 hours every day.
In the first 10 days, they produced 10kg less than 10% of the total amount they planned to produce.
In the next 10 days, they produced 10% more soap powder than in the first 10 days.
They then decided to complete the job 10 days earlier. At what rate must they work in order to meet the new target?
Give your answer correct to the nearest gram per hour per worker.

------------------------

First 10 days:
10% of 10000 kg = 1000 kg
1000 kg – 10 kg = 990 kg

Next 10 days:
110% of 990 kg = 1089 kg

Remaining kgs to produce:
10000 kg – 990 kg – 1089 kg = 7921 kg

Remaining days to produce:
70 days – 20 days – 10 days = 40 days

--------------

In 1 day, 1 worker works 10 hours.
In 40 days, 1 worker work 400 hours.

7921000 grams / 400 hours / 1 worker
= 1980 grams / 1 hour / 1 worker

Ms Chan, thanks but i feel very 0_0 when i see the workings.

Seems that I must thank Math for reviving this class blog...

To Kim Yao's qn on converting 100cm3 in to m3, I used ‘indices’ to solve.

If you haven’t learnt ‘indices’, forget it, just take it as a check to the answer.

Due to some technical Math symbols like cubes and cube roots, I can't type it out.

Here's my 'authentic' soln:

So the answer is indeed 0.0001 m3.
As for how to convert 100cm3 into 100cm2 / m2, I can't help cos I don't understand the question in the first place.
Yours T!

Give your answer correct to the nearest gram per hour per worker.

10 workers -> 10 tonnes in 700 hrs
first 100 hours --> 1ton - 10kg
next 100hours --> 11/10(1ton-10kg)
= 1 1/10ton - 11kg
700 - 100 - 100 - 100 = 400
400 --> 10ton - (1 1/10ton + 11kg) - (1ton-10kg)
= 7 9/10ton - 1kg

(79/10 ton - 1kg) / 10 = 7.9ton - 1000g
one worker's rate --> 7.9ton - 1000g
= 7900kg - 1kg
= 7900000g - 1000g
= 7899000g

7899000g / 400 =...

Not sure if it's the correct ans. lol.

Ping

Edit: found out that one tonne is 1000kg.
Edit2: Spotted my error and corrected it, but most probably wrong again :X

Hi people. Can someone tell me how to do this?

(0.0265)sq * 86.9 - (-14.5)cube / sqrt79.5 + cbrt -97.8

I mean, isn't cbrt -97.8 an imaginary no.????

I asked Darren Lim this and he conveniently changed the topic and didn't answer my question. XD So mean!

hello, its me. Got some help, this is the solution.

1m3 = 1000000cm3
100cm3 = 1000000cm3/10000
1m3/ 10000 = 100cm3
= 0.0001m3

hmm, we were right.

Hi, coming clean, I'm not that sure how to do that question. I just tried to make it sound logical, so that more people can challenge my ans, for the fun of it, but until now, I don't know what the ans is. Yup, I wasn't taught it yet =) And I know, even if my IT may suck, I still remember that you can see that it's me.
haha.
my chi got lower than OKY by alot.
my math missed 1% ( I got 79%) to get the 4.0 aka A1

another added infor from my assessment bk:
1m3=1000000cm3
the above is most probably correct since it's taken from assessment bk
this is what i think:
so if it's 100cm3, it should be 0.0001m3

hp actually mistook some one else as me?!!!
the anonymous is caleb, right?
100cm3 in to m3:
100cm3 divide by (100x100x100)
well, that's what i will do.
because 100cm equals to 1m. and when it's cube, it should be divided by 100 three times, isn't it?
gosh. i'm confused....

weiling

[btw, both physics and math include this. and my physics teacher taught me the conversion. anyway, you can find the conversion method in assessment books.]

Hi, a few things to clarify,

no.1, I'm not GWL.(either you don't know who I am or you really are refering to her)
no.2, cm converted into m, value divides 100 ---- 100cm=1m
no.3, 100cm X 100cm X 100cm = 1000000cm3 is correct
no.4, however, question is talking about no.2, not no.3
no.5, 0.001m3( sorry,digit calculation error ) = 0.1m X 0.1m X 0.1m
= 10cm X 10cm X 10cm = 1000cm3
no.6, therefore I am wrong
no.7, therefore, there is no ans bec there is no rational number which cubed can give 100 accurately
no.8, therefore, it is not possible that 100cm3 can be converted into m3

Anonymous

But gwl, if its 100x100x100, then 100cm x 100cm x 100cm = 1000000cm^3 isn't it?
This question is tough. Not until I solve it ;D

hello, its erm, cm converted to m is two digits, as in "/100"
because 100cm = 100 / 100m
100 cm3 = 100 / (100 ^ 3)
100cm3 = 0.0001m3
I think
I repeat, I think.

and...

100cm3 = 100cm ^ 3 = 1000cm ^ 2 = 10m * 10m = 100m2

I'm not sure

5(1-a)+b(a-1)
=5(1-a)-b(a-1)
As when you times the minus sign back into b(a-1), it should look something like b(-a+1), which is the same as (1-a), to reinforce Miss Chan's point if you still dont understand.

Labels:

9:41 PM

hi Kim Yao,

Simply negate the minus sign to make it positive:

5(1 – a) + b(a - 1)
= 5(1 – a) – b (1 – a)
= (1 – a) (5 – b)

how to change the (a-1) to (1-a) so that can factorise further.
